New Names Added To Gucci Concert
BLAKE LIVELY, James Franco and Jennifer Lopez will join Beyoncé Knowles on stage during Gucci’s Sound of Change concert in London. While Lively and Franco have been confirmed as presenters, Lopez will perform a special one-off set.
Other names to feature in the charity gig, to be held at Twickenham Stadium on June 1, include Florence and the Machine, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding and Haim. Further acts and surprise collaborations are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Knowles is the concert’s artistic director and will herself perform a 45-minute set. The event was organised in support of Gucci’s new Chime for Change campaign – an initiative founded by Knowles, Salma Hayek and Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, with the aim of improving health, education and justice for women worldwide.
“Thanks to Beyoncé and the amazing line-up of performers and presenters, the stage at Twickenham on June 1 will be filled with powerful voices of change who believe that girls and women everywhere deserve the right to be educated, healthy, safe and celebrated,” said Giannini. “This represents an important moment in the Chime For Change campaign, but it’s only the beginning. The funds we raise will have a major impact on the lives of thousands of girls and women around the world.”
